WIFI is essential. Anyone under the age of 95 knows this. WI-FI can be a challenge for boaters. Most marinas have WI-FI, but it’s very hit or miss, much like hotels that advertise WI-FI. It’s there but so slow it’s unfunctional. Cell works in many places but not more than a mile or two offshore.

Enter Elon Musk, SpaceX and Starlink satellites. It’s brilliant and gutsy. When his engineers told him the only way to do it would be to put 1,000’s of satellites in a lower orbit, he said “so let’s put 1,000’s of satellites in a lower orbit”. He’s helped the Ukraine’s stay connected and he’s helping Bistari stay connected.

Bistari can now link to Wi-Fi offshore, allowing us to make phone calls on our cell phones and connect to the internet.
