Seabrook Island

We’re off to enjoy more of the Low Country with family. Our course from Jenkins Creek off Dataw Island to Bohickett Marina off Seabrook Island was 35 km. We motor sailed, enjoyed scenic views of Low Country boating. One short squall passed through.

We were able to get reservations at Bohickett Marina for the weekend but arriving a day early we opted to anchor off St Johns Island. The anchorage was beautiful, if a bit shallow. Fair warning…

We ran aground leaving the anchorage the following morning. Captain Ken was not happy. Crew’s view - a pleasant few hours to relax and enjoy the flooding tide. Ebbing - tide’s going out, Flooding - tide’s coming in.

Family

As fortune would have it, we were meeting the right family members, Karen and Ward Pritchett. Our son-in-law, Jack’s parents live on Kiawah Island and were joining us for dinner on Bistari. Ward Pritchett is a wine connoisseur and brought lovely bottles of wine and delicious steaks to soften the morning tragedy. Thank you, Ward and Karen, for a delightful end of the day cheer up!
