Isola di Ponza

October 14,2024

Forty miles off the Gulf of Naples sit the Isole Ponziane, a group of islands known for charming fishing villages, grottos, isolated beaches, walking paths, and of particular interest - location. They are a perfect distance from the mainland to ward off mass tourism.

We motored on a glassy sea, perfect sunny day, anchoring in the small village harbor of Ponza. There were a few boats but plenty of room to anchor. It was a quiet peaceful stay.

Bistari anchored close to shore.

Serenaded by this baptism celebration. Such joy and tradition.

Wandering the streets we found most shops closed on Monday as the season winds down.

The bells of La Chiesa della SS Trinita chimed daily over the village.
